Follow up on Hamas-Israel negotiations

Hamas and Israel have failed to establish an agreement releasing captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shilat and an estimated 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. A statement was released from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert which blamed Hamas for the breakdown in talks. The statement from PM Olmert accused Hamas of hardening its stance in the days leading up to the Olmert-imposed deadline of Sunday and that it was for this reason that Israel and Hamas were not able to come to an agreement. Hamas has not made a statement of its own as of this moment. More details are expected by tomorrow.
