The Israeli police have shot dead a Palestinian motorist. According to Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfield, the motorist was driving "his car toward the border guards and lightly wounded three of them in the legs." In response, police fired several direct shots at the driver, killing him on the spot. Nearby, Israeli police were demolishing the home of the first bulldozer attacker, reportedly to "deter would-be attackers." The demolition of the now-deceased attacker's property is said by Israeli authorities to be justified under the British mandate law number 119 (1945) "which allows for demolition of the homes of those acting aggressively against the state." The 14 current occupants of the home fought the demolition order on grounds that the assailant never even lived there, but were unsuccessful.
