The U.S. Congress: A Lost Cause

Why is the U.S. incapable of evenhandedly mediating Middle East peace? One major reason is the role of Congress and the pro-Israel bias there. I'm not going to delve deeply into this as it has been discussed in length in many places elsewhere, but today brings us but another example of that bias on the Hill. Check out this hearing of the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa:


The three witnesses come from think-tanks with very overt pro-Israel stances. The Washington Institute for Near East Policy was actually born out of AIPAC. But wait, there is more:
